Pittsburg airport is expanding, $2.2 million grant

PITTSBURG, Kans. — The Metropolis of Pittsburg is working to enhance the Atkinson Municipal Airport.

The FAA has dedicated greater than $2.2 million by way of a grant to assist broaden the airport’s apron.

The Metropolis will match $232,000 or 10% of the grant.

The growth will create new parking for jets, separate from taxi operations, a brand new location for single engine tie-downs, and enhance general security on the airport.
