Hayden throws gem, Pittsburg shuts out Fort Scott in home opener – KOAM

PITTSBURG, Kan. – (WATCH) Pittsburg tops Fort Scott 7-0 of their residence opener Friday night time.
Cale Farrington drives in two runs for the Purple Dragons, whereas Cooper Hayden throws an entire recreation shutout – permitting simply 5 hits and racking up 9 strikeouts.
“I assumed Cooper was implausible tonight. He’s been our man for a pair years now that we all know when he goes on the market he’s going to compete,” says Pittsburg head coach Keith Matlock, “Tonight he did a very nice job of blending his pitches round. He stored them off steadiness and the blokes did a superb job of creating performs behind him.”
“I had a sense there could be a superb crowd,” Matlock says of lastly attending to play at residence, “It’s a wonderful night time and it’s an ideal place to play. We get to be at residence right here for a bit of bit. I do know the children had been chomping on the bit to play at residence, so it felt good.”
