Firefighters Battling 3-Alarm Vegetation Fire in Pittsburg
For the third time in a month, Contra Costa County Hearth responded to a vegetation hearth at Golf Membership Ct and Golf Membership Highway within the Metropolis of Pittsburg.
Whereas responding, smoke and flames have been reported and the fireplace was spreading.
Upon arrival, Engine 87 reported the fireplace was estimated at 2-acres. A short while later, the fireplace expanded to approximently 5-7 acres and a second alarm response was requested to Orinda Circle as houses have been threatened. The fireplace had potential to develop to 30-40 acres.
By 5:53 pm, the fireplace had grown to 15-20 acres and crews have been coping with overhead powerlines. There was a direct risk to houses.
6:34 pm:
Hearth is contained at 15 acres with mop as much as take a number of hours. In addition they didn’t lose any constructions.
8:40 pm:
Con Hearth investigation has decided this afternoon’s 3-alarm grass hearth in neighborhood of Golf Membership Dr originated in a homeless encampment. 18+ acres burned & a number of houses have been threatened by the blaze that took greater than 75 Con Hearth & Cal Hearth personnel to include
