Fire breaks out at McAlester church, polling location

MCALESTER, Okla. — Emergency crews responded to a hearth breaking out at church earlier than the polls opened in McAlester Tuesday morning.

Pittsburg County Election Board officers say between 5:30 and 6 a.m., a ballot employee arrived on the Meeting of God Church and located the constructing engulfed in flames.

Firefighters arrived shortly on the scene. It is believed that nobody was inside on the time

The church is the polling spot for two precincts however now has been moved to the Pittsburg Co. Election Board Workplace situated at 109 East Carl Albert Parkway in McAlester.
