Vigil held for murdered Vineland teenager who had dreams of playing in big leagues

VINELAND, New Jersey (WPVI) — A candlelight vigil was held in South Jersey Tuesday evening to recollect a young person who was gunned down final week.

Household and mates gathered on the South Vineland Little League fields to honor 15-year-old Anthony Torres-Sanchez.

His household says he beloved baseball and had desires of the massive leagues.

“He was blissful. He preferred to be along with his household. He beloved baseball,” Anthony’s mom Kironys Sanchez instructed reporters Tuesday.

She stated Anthony was a pitcher and performed shortstop.

“Superb, wonderful son,” stated Sanchez.

Police say the capturing occurred round 11:45 a.m. on the 1800 block of North Delsea Drive final Thursday.

Torres-Sanchez was taken to Inspira Medical Middle in Vineland the place he died from his accidents.

Deshaun Bowen, 23, and Rhodane Watson, 18, have been charged along with his homicide.

“We want extra strict gun legal guidelines. These younger individuals are going to the shop and buying weapons prefer it’s a lollipop,” stated Doris Torres, Anthony’s nice aunt.

Vineland Excessive Faculty stated it has grief counselors out there for college students and employees who want them.
