Storm washes away chunk of Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia, multiple cars damaged

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Heavy rains washed away a piece of the Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia creating a big pothole on the roadway and loads of hassle for drivers.

Philadelphia police had been referred to as round 1:30 a.m. Friday to the Boulevard close to Wissahickon Avenue and Broad Road within the metropolis’s Nicetown part for a number of automobiles with flat tires.

Police say once they first arrived on the scene there have been seven automobiles with flat tires.

A tow truck driver, additionally on the scene, advised Motion Information crews needed to change as many as 30 flat tires because of the hazard.

The highway was worn right down to the metal rebar.

The outlet is estimated to be roughly eight ft lengthy, two ft broad and 6 inches deep.

Police closed the Boulevard’s outer lane within the space for the Streets Division to make the emergency repairs.
