‘It was very dangerous’: Lehigh University grad living in Ukraine escapes to Poland

“We went via 18 checkpoints, two Ukrainian and 16 of the invaders. It was very harmful. We all know {that a} convoy of personal automobiles, similar to ours, was shelled by the Russians simply two days earlier than we went,” stated Alina Beskrovna.

She stated the scenario was so dire that they needed to take an opportunity and go. Fortunately, she was in a position to escape together with her mom and 4 others. She stated it was the scariest drive of her life.

Earlier this month, Beskrovna shared the harrowing story of her final 30 days in hiding within the metropolis of Mariupol.

“The final month has been hell. The Russians are actually wiping town off the map. We misplaced every part. We do not have a house or a hometown to return to. I personally know two neighbors who’ve been killed. I do not know the place my father is. He has been lacking for the reason that twenty eighth. I have no idea if he’s alive,” stated Beskrovna.

“We had no water. We needed to search for a properly and boil and reboil and filter. We had little or no meals. We began rationing nearer to the tip of the fourth week,” she stated.

Beskrovna stated the Russian military was wiping Mariupol off the map, and with it her dwelling. The worst half, she would not know the place her father is.

“…I have no idea if he is alive I have not heard from him,” Beskrovna stated.
