Intoxicated driver jumps curb, kills child walking with mother in Philadelphia: DA

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A person is dealing with vehicular murder prices after he allegedly drove underneath the affect and killed a younger little one who was strolling on the sidewalk, in accordance with the Philadelphia District Lawyer’s workplace.

It occurred round 11 a.m. Monday on the 3000 block of West Girard Avenue.

Authorities mentioned 62-year-old Timothy Robinson was intoxicated when he jumped a sidewalk curb and hit a mom and her 3-year-old little one whereas touring in a 2020 Black Nissan Rogue SUV.

The kid was pronounced useless on the hospital. The mom was not injured.

“My coronary heart is damaged for this little one, and for the household that now grieves such a horrible loss. Intoxicated driving is rarely okay, and this tragedy is why. My workplace will work to carry Mr. Robinson accountable,” mentioned DA Larry Krasner in an announcement.

Robinson is being charged with involuntary manslaughter, murder by car, murder by car whereas DUI and different associated offenses.
