Hundreds ‘Fight for Air’ as they climb floors of Philadelphia high-rise

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Greater than 600 folks took half within the American Lung Affiliation’s Combat For Air Climb on Saturday in Philadelphia.

Now in its sixteenth yr, the occasion features a climb up 50 flooring at Three Logan Sq. in Middle Metropolis.

To assist encourage contributors, David Skalski of Lancaster was there.

He obtained a life-saving lung transplant, and three years later he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

Alongside the way in which, he honored a request from the mom of his organ donor, John Tuzak, a 26-year-old from Chicago.

“She says, ‘I do not know if you understand, however we had John cremated, and we do have a few of these ashes left over. Would you be prepared to hold them to the highest of the mountain?” Skalski stated.

Skalski says he was blown away by the request, and introduced a few of Tuzak’s ashes with him on his climb.
