Group aims to raise $2 million to preserve ‘Lucy The Elephant’ attraction at the Jersey Shore

MARGATE CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) — A fan favourite on the Jersey Shore is reopening to the general public this Memorial Day weekend.

However ‘Lucy the Elephant’ wants some assist.

Lucy has been hidden behind scaffolding since September — when work started to eliminate some put on and tear.

The ultimate touches are being added, together with a waterproofing layer and a brand new coat of paint.

However Lucy’s “Life Preserver Marketing campaign” is searching for extra assist.

Initially, the prices have been estimated to be round $1.4 million, however they’ve skyrocketed to over $2 million.

The group hopes that 800 individuals will come ahead to donate $1,000 to the marketing campaign.

If you cannot donate $1,000, the group says any quantity is appreciated.
