‘Pile of bodies’: Eagles fan celebrating NFC title win injured in bus shelter collapse

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The lady seen in a viral video falling from a bus shelter because the ceiling collapsed in Middle Metropolis after the Eagles NFC Championship victory is talking out to Motion Information.

“I hit my head and I hit my again. I used to be knocked out for a couple of minutes,” recalled Ashley Marcial.

She was celebrating the Eagles’ NFC Title win over the 49ers on Sunday evening when she determined to climb on high of a bus shelter on Broad Road close to Metropolis Corridor. There have been a couple of dozen folks on high of the roof when it began to provide means.

“The 2 guys that I am holding on to, they’re like, ‘Yea I really feel it sinking in, it is about to pop,’” stated Marcial.

Moments later, the roof caved in and the folks on high fell about eight ft onto the concrete beneath. A number of folks have been injured together with Marcial.

“It was a pile of our bodies, and so they drug me out,” Marcial stated. “I can not stroll straight, my head is spinning, my eyes have been rolled again.”

She was handled by paramedics who put her in a neck brace as a result of they have been involved about harm to her backbone. After x-rays and assessments, docs decided she wasn’t severely damage.

However Mercial realizes it might have been worse.

Metropolis officers urge folks to not climb on high of the bus shelters as a result of they don’t seem to be designed for a lot weight.

The repairs might value tens of 1000’s of {dollars}.
