A Pennsylvania volunteer fireplace division referred to as off its gun raffle fundraiser following an uproar from group members.

The Rocky Run Hearth Firm Spring Particular Gun Raffle charged $10 a ticket, and marketed prizes like a 9mm pistol, a shotgun and an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

Some imagine that the holding the raffle within the wake of the Texas elementary college taking pictures was in poor style.

“That’s scary as it’s, at the present time we don’t want any extra rifles,” Kehinde Ajayi mentioned. “If it’s for one thing completely different I’m for it. Not a rifle, that is scary.”

Though the raffle began weeks earlier than the tragedy in Texas, the division heeded the calls of the group it serves and canceled the raffle. 

Officers say the raffle will now award an equal money prize as a substitute. 

The Rocky Run Hearth Division Chief informed FOX 29’s Chris O’Connell that the division referred to as off the raffle as a result of it grew to become an excessive amount of of a distraction.

The division mentioned it does not need to play politics and solely needs to serve their group.
