Frost advisory issued for central and northeast Pennsylvania: Protect your plants and crops
The National Weather Service has issued a FROST ADVISORY for portions of central & northeast Pennsylvania for Monday night into Tuesday morning.Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid to low 30’s, which could affect crops and greenery. Cold temperatures could cause buds, flowers, and shoots to curl, turn brown or black, and die.
“The other thing I’d like to remind people if they have flowers outside like Hardy Mums, it would be a good idea to bring them in for tonight because heavy frost can affect the flowers on the mums. Since it’s going to warm up for the rest of the week, if you bring them in for this one night, you’ll be able to enjoy them for another week or two”, said Garry O’Malia, the owners of Larry O’Malia’s farm and greenhouse said.
