Father, son killed in Bucks County, Pennsylvania murder-suicide: Police

Police told Action News an 8-year-old boy and his 47-year-old father died in the incident.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Police in Bucks County, Pennsylvania are inevsitgating a murder-suicide involving a father and son on Thursday night.

Chopper 6 was over the scene on the 500 block of Heritage Oak Drive in Lower Makefield Township.

Police told Action News an 8-year-old boy and his 47-year-old father died in the incident.

Lower Makefield Township Police Chief Kenneth Coluzzi said the situation began with a wellness check.

When police arrived at the residence, they saw a child laying on the floor inside the home.

Officers kicked the door in and found both the father and son suffering from gunshot wounds to their heads.

“And that’s what happened. They checked the house and saw a little boy on the floor. They immediately kicked the door and found the father also. We don’t have a motive at this point, obviously probably domestic,” said Coluzzi.

No one else was home at the time of the shooting.

The mother of the family was notified of the situation, police say.

No identities have been released at this time.

Officials say grief counselors will be available on Friday at the school the child attended in the Pennsbury School District.
