Fatal crash in Lynn Township leaves 2 dead, authorities detour traffic (UPDATE)
Two people died in a multi-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon in Lynn Township, authorities said.
The three-vehicle accident happened just after 3 p.m. at Route 309 south near Gun Club Road, Pennsylvania State Police spokesman Trooper Nathan Branosky said.
Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio told lehighvalleylive.com around 4 p.m. that he was on the scene. The coroner’s office pronounced two people dead at the scene, he said.
Autopsies are scheduled. The coroner’s office is still attempting to identify the deceased and notify next of kin.
It’s unclear what led to the crash. Pennsylvania State Police in Fogelsville continue to investigate.
Roads, however, were slick at the time of the crash. The weather forecast called for a 100% chance of rain Sunday for the region.
Branosky said traffic is being detoured around the crash scene from Mountain Road to Mosserville Road and Gun Club Road.
Pennsylvania State Police’s Collision Analysis Reconstruction Unit currently is on the scene, he said.
