Pennsylvania man pinned down by homeowner’s pitbull until police arrive

A 9-year-old rescue canine named “Spuds” rescued his household from an alleged intrusion at their Pennsylvania house by attacking the person and serving to restrain him till police arrived. 

The pitbull’s proprietor, Leroy Rucker, mentioned, “Spuds is a protector.”

On March 24, Spud proved his love for his proprietor by defending them from the alleged trespasser. 

“I used to be simply sitting in right here watching TV and YouTube with the canines like I all the time do,” Rucker recalled to Fox 8 in a current interview.

That is when 53-year-old Robert Burke Jr. allegedly got here bursting by way of the door. The homeowners and their beloved canine, Spud, rapidly jumped to motion.

“He wasn’t going to only stroll in my home uninvited.” Rucker instructed Fox 8 including, “He sees me combating, he needs to struggle.”

Rucker mentioned Spuds helped restrain the person for 20 minutes till regulation enforcement arrived.

Based on courtroom paperwork, Burke is being arraigned to Blair County Jail on expenses of housebreaking, prison trespass, easy assault and harassment. His subsequent courtroom date is scheduled for Could 13 with $50,000 bail. 

“For them, it’s safety. For me, its love,” Rucker instructed Fox 8.
