The cooler conditions that returned to New Jersey on Sunday after several days of warm spring-like weather will continue for through much of the week with blustery conditions expected Monday, the final full day of winter.

Highs will make it into the low 50s across much of the state by this afternoon, but winds of 10 to 15 mph that gust as highs as 25 mph will make it feel chillier, the National Weather Service said.

Overnight lows will range from the upper 20s in northwest parts of the state to the mid 30s in South Jersey.

Normal mid-March temperatures range from the mid 30s to low 50s in New Jersey.

Tuesday will bring increasing clouds with more gusty winds up to 25 mph and highs in the upper 40s. Spring arrives at 11:06 p.m. Tuesday. Lows Tuesday night into Wednesday will be in the 30s.

Temperatures on Wednesday will climb back into the 50s, but gusty winds that reach as high as 30 mph will stick around, forecasters say.

Conditions on Thursday will be the coldest of the week due to winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of 25 to 35, the weather service said in its morning forecast discussion. Highs are only likely to top out in the low to mid 40s and peak winds gusts could reach 40 mph in some spots.

Rain chances return on Friday night and Saturday.
