New Jersey man accused of defrauding Medicaid of more than $100,000 while living in CT
A New Jersey man has been charged with allegedly defrauding Medicaid of more than $100,000 while living in East Hartford, officials said.
Glenroy Patterson, 46, of Jersey City, was charged Wednesday with one count of health insurance fraud and one count of first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community, according to the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.
An arrest warrant for Patterson alleges that while he was working as a board-certified behavioral analyst, and was the owner of Glastonbury-based autism-specialty group Trading Spaces ABA LLC, he billed the Connecticut Medicaid Health Insurance Program for services he did not provide, according to the DCJ.
Patterson’s company was allegedly not meeting with clients as reported but submitted claims to the Department of Social Services between March 2020 and December 2021, officials said.
Patterson allegedly profited about $102,084 from the fraudulent filings. He faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge, officials said.
He was released on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Aug. 8, the DCJ said.
