New Jersey man, 57, identified in fatal Korean War Veterans Parkway crash

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 57-year-old New Jersey man was recognized because the sufferer of a deadly Korean Warfare Veterans Parkway crash that induced an entire closure of the roadway Saturday.

Christopher Digioia, a resident of 1 Scenic Drive in Highlands, N.J., was pronounced useless on the scene of the crash, which occurred at roughly 6:22 p.m. on the northbound aspect of the Parkway, close to Arden Avenue. Highlands is positioned roughly 30 miles from Staten Island.

Digioia was ejected from the car after it struck the guardrail, stated police.

Police beforehand stated Digioia was a passenger within the car; nonetheless, an NYPD spokesman on Sunday stated he was driving alone within the car when the crash occurred.

A separate car that was not concerned within the crash was broken by particles, the spokesman stated.

It was unclear why Digioia misplaced management of the car.
