Shripad Kulkarni, a renowned chef based in New Jersey, has unveiled a unique culinary creation, the ‘Modi Ji Thali,’ in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming state visit to the United States. The thali showcases a diverse array of traditional dishes representing various states of India, expertly curated based on recommendations from members of the Indian diaspora.

The Modi Ji Thali, carefully crafted by Chef Kulkarni, encompasses a wide range of culinary delights. From comforting khichdi, delectable rasgulla, and flavorful sarso da saag with dum aloo to savory Kashmiri, idli, dhokla, refreshing chaach, and crispy papad, the thali offers a gastronomic journey through the diverse flavors of India.

In addition to incorporating these beloved dishes, Chef Kulkarni has also incorporated millets into the preparations, aligning with the International Year of Millets, as declared by the United Nations for the year 2023. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of millets and celebrates the UN’s designation of 2023 as the International Year of Millets, a decision influenced by the recommendations of the Government of India.
