Jack Kraft, ex-Cahill aide pioneered bond counsel law in New Jersey, dies at 86 – New Jersey Globe

John L. Kraft, a former aide to Gov. William T. Cahill who helped launch the specialised discipline of bond counsel and public finance regulation in New Jersey, died on June 28.  He was 86.

Ove the course of his authorized profession, Kraft was the bond counsel for 18 counties in New Jersey, in addition to tons of of municipalities, college boards, and state and native authorities.

Cahill named Kraft as his affiliate counsel lower than two weeks after turning into Governor in January 1970.  That place, now generally known as deputy chief counsel, was second in command behind Cahill’s chief counsel, Pierre Garven.

Previous to becoming a member of the governor’s workplace, Kraft had been a member of the Matawan Republican Membership.  He had been a prime fundraiser for Gov. Tom Kean in 1981, and he remodeled $1.1 million in authorized charges on the EDA in 1982.

The Irvington native served within the U.S. Air Power between Georgetown College and Yale Regulation college.
