Milford Crash On Savage Road Claims Life Of 50-Year-Old Mason Man

MILFORD, NH — Milford police are investigating an accident on Savage Road that killed a 50-year-old man on Monday night.

Milford Police, fire, and Milford Ambulance, with the assistance of Amherst and Wilton Police Departments, responded to a motor vehicle accident at 6:03 p.m. with injury in the area of 241 Savage Rd in Milford.

Police say a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, operated by Walter F Knights, 50, of Mason, was traveling west on Savage Road approaching a small hill, and on the downside of the hill, the vehicle went off of the roadway. The pickup then crossed the roadway, striking a tree. Despite life-saving efforts by responders, Knight died at the scene of the crash.

Milford police said Savage Road was closed for approximately three hours due to the accident.
