Dog Perishes In Barnstead Manufactured Home Fire: Watch
BARNSTEAD, NH — Fire and rescue teams from Barnstead and surrounding communities were sent to a fire at a residence in town Tuesday.
Just before 4:30 p.m., Capital Region and Lakes Region dispatch began receiving reports about a fire at a home on South Barnstead Road. Lakes Region Dispatch said a caller reported the building was fully involved. It was unknown if anyone was inside. Firefighters, tankers, and engines from Barnstead, Alton, Gilmanton, Loudon, Pittsfield, and Stratford were sent to the scene.
The first arriving fire commander stated the 40-foot-by-20-foot home had two corners fully involved.

About five minutes later, a second alarm was struck, and Allenstown, Belmont, Epsom, Farmington, and New Durham firefighters and the Chichester rescue team were also sent to the scene.
Firefighters tapped into a hydrant behind the town’s library to assist in putting out the fire.

The fire commander confirmed with the homeowner that no one was inside, but a dog inside could not be saved.
Later, the Tri-Town Ambulance assisted with mutual aid coverage.
