Concord Police Investigating Bus Crash On North State Street
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a collision between a school bus and another vehicle that caused traffic issues in the North End for about 90 minutes.
Around 8:30 a.m., dispatch sent officers to the intersection of Penacook and North State streets and Horseshoe Pond Lane for a report of a crash. The first arriving officer immediately shut down the road, and more officers arrived to close traffic at Rumford Street on the north side of the crash and Bouton Street on the south side. The collision was between a Concord School District bus and a Kia.
The first officer said there were no students on the bus, and it appeared neither driver was injured.
Both drivers were checked and were properly licensed, according to scanner chatter.
Tow trucks were requested to the scene and arrived around 9:15 a.m., but then a heavy-duty wrecker was requested.
The roadway was reopened just before 10:15 a.m.
School Superintendent Kathleen Murphy called it an unfortunate accident and said she was pleased there were no students on the bus and no injuries.
