CHARLESTOWN, N.H. (WCAX) – A Charlestown, New Hampshire, man faces fraud-related charges after authorities say he tried to transfer the title of a car from a dead person.

The Attorney General’s office says Wyatt Hugg, 20, was arrested Tuesday after investigators received information that he submitted fraudulent documents to the Charlestown Town Clerk’s Office to obtain a New Hampshire title in his name.  They say the owner of the vehicle was deceased prior to the alleged sale and that the signed documents submitted to the state were fabricated.

Hugg was charged with tampering with public records and unsworn falsification.  He’s due in court on May 13.
