SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The Western Massachusetts Black Nurses Association celebrated their 30th anniversary on Saturday with a special theme, “Celebrating Nursing Leadership.”

That event took place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

We spoke with the president, Almaneta Lee, about the organization and their goal of supporting nurses of color within the community.

She said, “We began our chapter to develop leadership of nurses, nurses of color in the community. We help to educate, we help to provide community services, we help to mentor and coach the next generation of nurses… to continue the work of the community.”
