Shooting At Worcester Caribbean American Carnival Reported
WORCESTER, MA — The annual Worcester Caribbean American Carnival ended early Sunday after a reported shooting at a festival at the end of the parade route.
Worcester police closed Institute Park near 6:30 p.m. after the reported shooting. The park is where performers and vendors associated with the carnival sell food and other goods during the celebrations.
Worcester police did not immediately confirm the number of victims or if anyone had been arrested.

The shooting in Worcester follows an incident Saturday morning in Dorchester. Eight people were injured in a shooting near the J’ouvert parade, which kicks off Boston’s Caribbean Carnival celebration.
The Worcester Caribbean American Carnival has been held every August since 2013. The parade begins at Worcester City Hall and continues up Main Street toward Institute Park.
