BOSTON – Kyle Fiasconaro hates the concept of meals waste.

“I come from a cooking background the place nothing will get wasted. I feel most cooks, I want to suppose all cooks, prefer to suppose that you will use all the things,” stated Fiasconaro of Brewer’s Meals.

The chef discovered himself at a crossroads when he witnessed native grains being thrown out at a Brewery in New York. So when he relocated to Massachusetts, he stopped into Lamplighter Brewery with a plan.

“I walked in with a plastic bag and I requested for some spent grain and instantly, the proprietor brewer got here out. He launched himself and stated ‘Come right here any time you need,’” Fiasconaro recalled.

That is when the method of upcycling the grains started. Fiasconaro met with different companies and turned these grains into cookies, chips and crackers.

“I discovered increasingly that folks actually care about crackers,” Fiasconaro stated. “They need it to be the proper crunch, the proper form, the proper dimension, texture.”

Fiasconaro stated the enterprise is precisely what he had all the time hoped to perform.

“There’s plenty of jobs I might have. I might do something. However that is one thing that I really feel I’m doing good for the world,” he stated.
