Food Bank of Western Massachusetts honors volunteers with Partner Appreciation Days
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The Meals Financial institution of Western Massachusetts has been honoring members of the Frontline Emergency Meals Community with a collection of 4 Companion Appreciation Days as a part of its fortieth anniversary commemoration.
Monday night time’s occasion passed off on the Carriage Home at Barney Property in Springfield.
It featured shared remarks from meals financial institution employees, companions, and legislators.
Government Director of the Meals Financial institution of Western Massachusetts Andrew Morehouse spoke with Western Mass Information on the occasion and stated employees members and volunteers should be appreciated, particularly after the pandemic.
“At nice danger to themselves, the volunteers and the employees of the 108 pantries and meal websites right here in Hampden County discovered methods to adapt and be inventive to ensure people who couldn’t get to meal websites and pantries may get to the meals,” Morehouse informed us.
He went on to say that employees members and volunteers created supply packages, strategies to enroll on-line to get meals, and methods to get folks out of their houses to obtain meals.
