HALLOWELL, Maine — A Hallowell police sergeant was injured in a crash on Sunday night time triggered by slippery street circumstances.
Sgt. Christopher Giles’ cruiser was reportedly struck from behind by a teenage driver on Water Road round 8 p.m. on Sunday, based on the Kennebec Journal.
In accordance with the Kennebec Journal, Giles stated the 16-year-old boy from Gardiner was driving too quick for the street circumstances that night time.
The cruiser was significantly broken, lowering the division’s fleet of three down to 2.
Giles was taken to the hospital and later launched.
The teenager and his two passengers weren’t damage.
An investigation into the crash has been opened.
