Driver in hit-and-run that killed Maine motorcyclist has been found
The driver in a deadly hit-and-run in Woodstock has been found.
A 60-year-old Oxford man was riding at the head of a group of motorcycles on Route 232 about 7:50 p.m. Sunday when he tried to pass a gray GM pickup truck traveling in the right slow lane, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
The pickup truck then abruptly moved into the motorcycle’s lane, hitting and sending it into the trees, the sheriff’s office said Sunday night.
The 60-year-old was gravely injured, and his passenger, a 50-year-old woman from Oxford, suffered significant injuries.
Both were taken to the hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries.
The truck did not stop and was later spotted going south on Route 26.
The sheriff’s office said Monday that the driver has been found.
Neither the truck’s driver nor the victims have been identified.
No additional information was immediately available.
