Boston College Men’s Hockey Defeats Maine in Comeback Victory

The Eagles picked up another huge comeback win tonight, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to beat Maine 3-2.

The teams played an evenly matched first period, with neither managing to score a goal and ending the first 20 minutes tied at 0.

The Eagles almost suffered a big loss about 5 minutes into the second period, when Aram Minnetian left the game with an apparent knee injury due to a Maine major penalty, but her returned to the bench not long after.

Maine was able to break through the scoreless streak first, taking a 1-0 lead with just over 3 minutes to go in the second period.

The Black Bears made it 2-0 with 13 minutes to go in the game, sneaking a lucky bounce past Jacob Fowler.

The Eagles got within 1 with just over 9 minutes to go in the game thanks to a goal from Andre Gasseau early in a power play. With 3:01 to go in regulation, the Eags tied the game up at 2 with a goal from Mike Posma.

The Eagles took their first lead of the game late in regulation off a James Hagens pass to Ryan Leonard, going up 3-2 on Maine, and that lead stuck to earn BC the comeback win.
