98 Maine military families relocated as Togus-operated home closes

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) – 98 navy households have been relocated after a home in Central Maine for veterans receiving medical care has briefly closed.

A spokesperson confirmed the Fisher Home, a part of Togus Veterans Affairs in Augusta, has been closed since October.

They are saying the VA is evaluating the Fisher Home for constructing settlement points and is dedicated to reopening.

Veterans have been offered lodge rooms within the meantime.

The Fisher Home, which opened in 2020, was the state’s first facility for households of veterans present process critical medical care.
