5-goal third period lifts Maine Men’s Hockey over UConn
HARTFORD, Connecticut (WABI) – Coming into the third period of Friday’s matchup between Maine and UConn the Black Bears found themselves down 2-0.
Harrison Scott was able to get Maine on the board first off a powerplay goal just under 3 minutes into the third.
Only a few minutes later Maine went down 3-1 off a Huskie score.
Then Maine brought the game within one thanks to a shorthanded goal from Brandon Holt.
Bradly Nadeau leveled the contest just over 12 minutes into the third.
Then his brother Josh gave Maine their first lead of the night with under four minutes to go.
Finally, Brandon Holt added his second of the night to lift Maine to a 5-3 victory.
The win gives Maine a 6-2-1 conference record as their undefeated run extends to nine games.
They have a rematch with the Huskies on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
