Suspect Robbed 2 Gas Station Stores In Manchester: Police

MANCHESTER, CT — Two Manchester gas station stores were robbed early Monday morning in incidents that police believe are connected.

During each incident, the suspect may have been armed but did not display a gun, according to law enforcement.

Police were first called to Food Bag (116 Center St.) at about 3:35 a.m. for a reported robbery. The clerk told authorities that the suspect implied he had a gun.

The suspect demanded money from the register, but he immediately fled on foot when the suspect called police, officials said. The clerk described the suspect as a white man in his 40s, wearing all-black clothing and blue sneakers.

At about 3:50 a.m., police responded to Exxon Gas (318 Adams St.) for another reported robbery. The suspect demanded money from the register and fled with about $100 in cash, authorities said.

The clerk believes she saw the handle of a black handgun in the suspect’s waistband, but he never took it out, officials said. The suspect left the premises in a dark-colored vehicle, the employee told police. He was described as a white man in his late 30s with dark clothing and blue sneakers.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
