NEW CANAAN, CT (WFSB) – Police urged the general public to be conscious that bears don’t hibernate all winter lengthy.

The New Canaan Police Division mentioned Wednesday that it acquired a number of stories of a bear sighting on North Wilton Street on the town.

The stories got here in on Jan. 17 at 2:30 p.m. and Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m., police mentioned.

“Animal Management is reminding residents that bears don’t hibernate all winter and can forage for meals,” police mentioned on social media. “Please know that fowl feeders and accessible rubbish cans will appeal to them.”
