Pedestrian struck, injured near Connecticut Department of Transportation

NEWINGTON — One particular person was hospitalized after a crash involving a pedestrian on the Berlin Turnpike close to the Connecticut Division of Transportation Saturday evening.

Newington police mentioned the incident occurred round 9:40 p.m. Officers responded to studies of a motorcar crash that occurred on the southbound lanes of the Berlin Turnpike, within the 2800 block. The Connecticut Division of Transportation is housed there.

The crash concerned a passenger automotive and a pedestrian, police mentioned.

The pedestrian, who suffered “critical bodily accidents,” was transported to a neighborhood hospital, police mentioned. The motive force of the passenger automotive remained on scene.

The southbound lanes of the turnpike from Kitts Lane to Most important Avenue had been closed for a number of hours. The roadway has since been re-opened, police mentioned.
