Freebie Friday: Where to see free music this summer in Connecticut
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s summertime and the music is right. We are stretching your dollar with where you can see free entertainment during the week.
The Windsor Summer Concert Series has begun. Put that on your calendar for Thursdays through July and August, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday is the rain date each week. You can find a schedule of bands online.
The Lunchtime Music Series is back in downtown Hartford on Tuesdays and Wednesdays now through September from 12 to 1 p.m., weather-dependent. It’s outside on the plaza between State House Square and Connecticut’s old State House.
Or if saving money shopping is on your list, it’s the 86th annual “White Elephant” sale this weekend. It’s happening from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
The “Ladies Benevolent Society” has been collecting everything from antiques and clothing to refrigerators and kayaks at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme.
And for littles, the Express Summer Program is back in New Britain at Willow Street Park. You can stop by and enjoy from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s designed for kids in Kindergarten and up now through Aug. 16. Contact them for more info if you’re interested.
