Connecticut Governor Calls Pending Tax Cut Plan a Boon for AI

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said Wednesday his state can become a leader in artificial intelligence by encouraging businesses to adopt the emerging technology with help from a proposed tax cut for startups.

Lamont previously said he will propose a tax cut for businesses next month at his annual budget address to the General Assembly. He hasn’t revealed details, but told Bloomberg Government on Wednesday the idea would focus on helping startups as part of broader efforts to encourage AI adoption among businesses in the state.

The Democratic governor also didn’t rule out supporting pending state legislation (S.B. 2) …
