1 Killed, 4 Injured In 2-Car Crash In Bridgeport: Police
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 23-year-old Bridgeport woman was killed Sunday night when the vehicle she was driving collided with another car at the intersection of Seaview and Connecticut avenues in Bridgeport, according to police.
Three passengers in the car driven by the 23-year-old were injured in the crash — two women and a girl. The operator of the other vehicle, a 33-year-old woman, was also injured in the crash, which occurred just before 10 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation by Bridgeport police, a black 2017 Ford Focus, driven by the 23-year-old, was traveling south on Seaview Avenue when it approached the intersection of Seaview Avenue and Connecticut Avenue.
As the Ford attempted to go through the intersection, it was struck by a blue 2008 Audi A4 traveling west on Connecticut Avenue, which was driven by the 33-year-old.
Both drivers were unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived, and had to be extricated from their vehicles. The three injured passengers in the Ford, a 39-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl, also were to be pulled out of the vehicle by first responders.
All were taken to Bridgeport Hospital Medical Center, where the 23-year-old woman was pronounced dead about 45 minutes after the crash.
“The Bridgeport Police Department’s thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends,” said Sgt. Darryl Wilson in a statement.
The 33-year-old driver and the 39-year-old passenger were listed in stable condition, according to police, while the 18-year-old and 13-year-old were treated for minor injuries.
