Wild trade Marat Khusnutdinov and Jakub Lauko to Boston for Justin Brazeau
VANCOUVER — The Wild expected to have to subtract to add to continue to shake up their roster, and that’s exactly how they brought in another forward.
They dealt Jakub Lauko, Marat Khusnutdinov and a 2026 sixth-round draft pick Thursday night to Boston for Justin Brazeau ahead of Friday’s NHL trade deadline.
Brazeau, 27, is a 6-foot-6, 227-pound right winger who has 10 goals and 10 assists in 57 games with the Bruins.
A presence down low who has a knack for holding onto pucks in the offensive zone, Brazeau can help the Wild’s scoring depth, and he gives the team more size. He is a free agent after the season.
Lauko is also on an expiring contract after coming over in an offseason trade from Boston. He had three goals and three assists while battling injury.

As for Khusnutdinov, he was recently sent down to the minors to help the Wild have enough salary cap space to activate Kirill Kaprizov once he’s healed from surgery on a lower-body injury that has sidelined him since January.
Khusnutdinov had two goals in 57 games with the Wild, and only 30 shots on goal.
