Police are hoping to identify a woman who allegedly stole a person’s bank card and used it to withdraw more than $10,000 at an ATM in East Boston last month.
Boston police said the woman scammed a person around 11:30 a.m. on June 22 near 11 Porter Street, where there are two Bank of America ATMs.
The woman allegedly scammed the victim into thinking there was an error on the machine after she used it, Boston police said. The woman then stole the card and withdrew $12,000.
Police shared images of a dark-haired woman with light skin. She’s wearing a tan tank top, large sunglasses, and a silver pendant necklace.
Boston police said the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with any information should call detectives at 617-343-4234. Anonymous tipsters can contact police through 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
