OTM Open Thread: Home of the (Boston) Braves

Happy Tuesday.

The Red Sox are back in action with the Atlanta Braves in town for two days. The Braves have been, relatively, struggling. The Sox won’t face Chris Sale. Ronald Acuńa Jr. is done for the season. And Kutter Crawford and Nick Pivetta will take the ball for Boston.

Sitting at .500 again the Red Sox are, once again, staying just close enough to the race. At 3.5 games back in the Wild Card in early June the season is by no means over. Masataka Yoshida is swinging a bat. Triston Casas truly believes he’s returning 6/21, and Tyler O’Neill seems to have dodges an injury bullet and is able to stay in baseball shape while resting up some dings and dents.

The question remains: if the Sox are close doesn’t Craig Breslow (primarily) buy or sell, since so many teams these days try to do both by flipping a pending free agent but also adding a needed piece.
