ROXBURY, Mass — Roxbury’s Blue Hill Avenue was well traversed Saturday. Not with the screeching of car tires, but the joys of games, activities and music.

Open Streets Boston hit their second neighborhood of the summer Saturday, closing Blue Hill Ave to cars so residents could enjoy family activities like games, face-painting, and even a DJ battle.

Boston Police Pam Harris evidently did some boots-on-the-ground recruiting.

On Saturday, August 19, Open Streets will move to the Allston and Brighton area. Open Streets Dorchester will shut down Dorchester Avenue on Sunday, September 17. Finally, East Boston will close off Meridian Street from Maverick to Porter and Bennington Street, from Porter to Day Square on Sunday October, 15.
