NICU babies celebrate first St. Patrick’s Day in Boston (photos)
Nurses and staff dressed up babies in the Boston-based Mass General Brigham neonatal intensive care units in green and other holiday-inspired clothes last week to celebrate their first St. Patrick’s Day.
“Any hospitalization can be difficult,” said Erika Nolin, a nurse at Mass General for Children. “Families in the NICU deal with significant stresses and many times, the unknown. Our teams are dedicated to normalizing each baby’s first few weeks and months as much as possible. Our team-driven photoshoots commemorate our babies’ first holidays despite the constraints of hospitalization and bring joy to nervous families in need of celebrations and smiles.”
