Man shot on Boston Common, hospitalized with life-threatening injuries – The Boston Globe

A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was shot on Boston Common on Monday night, Boston police said.

Officers responded to the Common at about 10:07 p.m., according to Officer Mark Marron, a spokesperson for the Boston Police Department. The man, whose identity was not released, was taken to a local hospital.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries in the shooting, which took place near the intersection of Tremont Street and Winter Street, the one-block pedestrian lane that runs between Park Street station on the Common and Downtown Crossing, according to Sergeant Detective John Boyle, the department’s lead spokesperson.

Homicide detectives were at the scene, and the entire Common was closed as police investigated the shooting, Marron said. No further information was immediately available late Monday night.
