Clouds and showers impact our Saturday

SCATTERED SHOWERS ON SATURDAY

On Saturday, we anticipate scattered showers throughout the day under overcast skies. The remnants of Tropical Storm Philippe will mainly affect Maine, with some rain expected on the eastern part of Cape Cod and Nantucket. Meanwhile, an approaching cold front will bring heavier rain to areas west of the Connecticut River, leaving our region in between the two systems. We could see a widespread quarter inch of rain, but the most intense precipitation will stay away.

BREEZY AND COOLER ON SUNDAY

Sunday promises a much sunnier day, although it will be cooler and breezy with wind gusts up to 30-35 miles per hour. Temperatures will struggle to rise beyond the low 60s. If you’re attending the Patriots game against the Saints at 1 PM, expect breezy conditions and temperatures around 60 degrees. A note to surfers looking to catch the big waves, be mindful of a high rip current risk throughout the day too.

THE WEEK AHEAD: COOL WITH SPOTTY RAIN

For the rest of the week, expect highs in the low to mid 60s. The only chances for rain will be on Tuesday and Friday. These conditions should facilitate a relatively quick change in leaf colors, making it a good week for observing the fall foliage.
