Kayyem was the assistant secretary for Homeland Safety below former President Barack Obama, and is the school chair of the Homeland Safety program at Harvard’s Kennedy College of Authorities. Her 2022 e book is “The Satan By no means Sleeps: Studying to Dwell in an Age of Disasters.”
