14-year-old boy shot, killed in Boston; 2nd juvenile hurt

BOSTON (AP) — A 14-year boy was killed and a second juvenile was injured in a mid-day taking pictures in Boston that Mayor Michelle Wu referred to as “unacceptable.”

Officers responding to experiences of gunfire within the metropolis’s Roxbury neighborhood simply after midday on Monday discovered a male juvenile affected by gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital the place he was pronounced lifeless, based on an announcement from police.

A second male juvenile was discovered within the space with a gunshot wound and brought to the hospital with accidents not thought of life-threatening, police stated. That sufferer’s age was not disclosed. No names had been launched.

Wu stated “any incident of violence in Boston is unacceptable.”

“We’re working relentlessly alongside our public security officers and neighborhood companions to help youth growth, secure streets and violence intervention,” Wu stated in an announcement.

Suffolk District Lawyer Kevin Hayden stated there seems to be extra daytime shootings occurring.

“I don’t keep in mind responding to this many daytime shootings,” he stated. “There appear to be increasingly more of them, and we’re involved with what seems to be a rise in reckless conduct with firearms through the day, when individuals are out locally.”

No arrests had been introduced.
