Bidens honor the Navy’s newest submarine at ceremony for USS Delaware

President Biden and first woman Jill Biden celebrated the formal commissioning of the united statesDelaware, the U.S. Navy’s latest quick assault submarine, at a ceremony Saturday within the Bidens’ dwelling state of Delaware. 

“The state of Delaware has liked the Bidens and cheered for us in most of our triumphant moments,” Jill Biden mentioned on the Port of Wilmington ceremony. “It has carried us by the darkest instances in our lives with the kindness that asks for nothing in return. Delaware is household.”

The submarine is longer than a soccer area, and its crew has 136 sailors. The submarine carries torpedoes, and it is configured to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles, which may strike targets a thousand miles away with pinpoint accuracy.
